I’ve been fortunate enough to spend some time on the very exclusive rooftop of the Thompson Toronto. The view is stunning, the décor cutting edge, the drinks are refreshing and the food though somewhat basic is good and not as expensive as one might think. The terrace wraps around the entire perimeter of the rooftop offering views of Toronto that are, in a word, breathtaking.
Some of the things on the menu are: crab cakes with tartar sauce ($12) Caesar salad, with chicken shrimp or steak ($10/$16), southern fried chicken salad ($14), smoked salmon platter ($14), 550 chicken club ($14) and a traditional burger of beef, turkey or veggie ($16)
The Summer drink menu is concise and covers all of the basics. Perfect mojitos, caipirinhas and fruity martinis ($12/$12/$16 respectively), as well as bottle service ranging in price from $220 for Kettle One to $600 for certain types of Cognac. The bar offers all drinks in addition to their Summer menu, so you can still enjoy your gin & tonic.
The Thompson Toronto rooftop located at 550 Wellington Street West and is open year round, though the pool is seasonal. It is accessible to residents of the building, hotel guests and VIP members. Phone: 416.640.7778
